Pastoral Deliverance Counseling, Spiritual Warfare Training & Seminars

During the "Jesus Movement" of the 1960's and 1970's, ministries began to develop that came to be recognized as "deliverance ministries" or "spiritual warfare ministries" in which evil spirits were discerned and cast out of the lives of suffering individuals. Although this "Jesus Movement" was considered by some to be a "countercultural phenomenon" it had in it a spiritual revival aspect that no one can deny. Many were saved, filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Many others were delivered from demonic oppression and often, along with the oppression; many were also healed of various diseases, disorders and dysfunctions.

However, there were others in the Body of Christ, equally sincere, who raised serious questions about the movement's validity. Unfortunately these differences of opinion led to a polarizing effect, with those holding to Cessationism, (the belief that the supernatural gifts of the apostolic church ceased with the death of John, the last Apostle) strongly contending that the Christian believer's power to get healed and delivered from evil spirits was established once and for all at the point of salvation.
